COVID-19 (Coronavirus) has sent shock waves through the small business community, including our hospitality community. Whilst Food Standards ANZ has stated that “Transmission through food is unlikely and there is no evidence of this occurring with novel coronavirus to date […]”; we we would like to assure our valued customers that Iluma Fine Foods has taken extra precautions and intensified our Food Safety protocols in addition to our normal rigorous cleaning and safety standards to keep our team and customers safe. All our of our team have conducted the Government’s Covid-19 training certification to ensure they are aware of their obligations and measures required to safeguard themselves and our customers.

Precautionary measures include the following:

Takeaway PRE-ORDERS Only

Our team is made up of a small number of highly skilled, power-house individuals.

To protect our ability to continue to create beautiful cakes and serve our customers, we will be taking pre-orders only for takeaway. Our premises will not be open for visit by members of the public until further notice. We thank you for your understanding.

Car park pick up or delivery

We will offer cark park pick up for your order whereby a member of our team will deliver the cake to your car as our premises will not be open to members of the public at this time. Please park in the carpark behind our store at the pre-designated collection time and call us on arrival or knock on the front door. We will confirm the pickup arrangements and pickup time with you upon ordering. Please do not leave your car in the carpark for more than 15 minutes after your designated pick up time to allow other customers to collect their order on time.

Staff Health

We are separating schedules for key team members to limit the risk of cross-infection

In the event that a team member becomes unwell, the store will be closed for as long as necessary to conduct a deep sanitisation in adherence with Government requirements.

The team has been advised to stay home and self-isolate for 14 days in the event that they are exposed to the virus or are experiencing symptoms. Staff members can only return to work after presenting a medical certificate clearing them for work.

EXTRA Sanitation

We will be closing our store to the public and will engage in extra deep cleans between shifts and additional sanitation of surfaces and equipment.

We will be limiting the number of deliveries to the store and will require staff to use our pens to sign for orders and sanitise packaging surfaces upon receipt prior to unpacking.

All staff understand their obligation to strictly follow hand washing and hand sanitation procedures and wear disposable gloves when preparing and handling food products.

Ordering

Please provide us with 48hours notice where possible and please understand that we are unable to offer our full range of products during this time.

Cancellations

We understand that events are being cancelled at late notice; however, we would appreciate your understanding that are unable to offer refunds for change of mind or cancellations after the order has been placed as we incur the cost of making the order.

Government Compulsory Closure

In the event that the Government requires the business to close for lockdown and we are unable to fulfil your cake order then we will provide you with a refund.

We understand that the changes may be inconvenient; we request that you be kind to our team as they are experiencing the same anxiety as you.  

As a small business we are doing our best to protect our team and serve our customers.

Our team is made up of parents with young children and elderly parents so our priority is to ensure they are safeguarded and still able to work.

We are closely monitoring updates and recommendations from the Australian Government and local and global health authorities and will action accordingly based on the changing situation surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic.
